Pupil groups
It is very important to us that we know our children as individuals as this enables us to tailor our teaching and care to meet their specific needs.
In September learning the names of all the new children is one of the first things to do so we can talk to the children by name. The staff working with our children on a daily basis know them exceptionally well and will use this information to inform their curriculum planning as well as adapt lessons on a daily basis.
To help ensure that all groups of children are achieving in line with expectations their academic performance is monitored by the School Leadership Team. This enables strategies to be refined or steps taken if a group is not performing as expected. Various criteria are used to group the children, such as by age, gender or whether they attract funding for the Pupil Premium Grant.
